Tender steak bites seared in a skillet and glazed with a sticky honey garlic butter sauce, served over fluffy rice for a quick and satisfying dinner.
1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 tbsp olive oil or canola oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
3 tbsp unsalted butter
4 garlic cloves, minced
¼ cup honey
2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari)
3 cups cooked white or brown rice
Optional: green onions, sesame seeds, red pepper flakes for garnish
Season steak cubes with salt and pepper. Let sit at room temp for 10–15 mins.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Sear steak in a single layer for 1–2 mins per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to pan. Once melted and slightly browned, stir in garlic. Sauté 30 secs.
Add honey and soy sauce. Simmer 1–2 mins until sauce thickens slightly.
Return steak to skillet and toss to coat in sauce. Cook 1 more minute.
Serve over warm rice. Garnish as desired.
Use day-old rice for better texture.
Substitute chicken or tofu for steak if desired.
Add steamed veggies for a complete one-bowl meal.
