A creamy one-pot pasta that brings all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger into a comforting skillet dinner. Fast, family-friendly, and incredibly satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)

  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth

  • 1 cup dry orzo pasta

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 1½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Chopped dill pickles and green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper. Drain excess grease if needed.

  • Add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds.

  • Add tomato paste, Worcestershire, and mustard. Stir well and cook 2 minutes.

  • Pour in beef broth and add orzo. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.

  • Cover partially and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring often, until orzo is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.

  • Stir in cream and cheese until melted and creamy. Adjust seasoning.

  • Serve hot, topped with pickles and green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Use turkey or plant-based meat for a variation.

  • Add cooked bacon or a splash of hot sauce for extra flavor.

  • Reheat with added broth to maintain creamy texture.
