A creamy, cheesy one-skillet meal that combines all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger with tender orzo pasta. Perfect for weeknights, kids, and one-pot comfort food fans.

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 cup orzo pasta

  • 2 ½ cups beef broth

  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • ¼ cup milk or cream

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Optional: 1 tsp yellow mustard, chopped dill pickles for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.

  • Add onion and cook until soft, about 4 minutes. Stir in garlic.

  • Mix in tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for 1 minute.

  • Add orzo and beef broth. Bring to boil, reduce to simmer, and cover.

  • Cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender.

  • Stir in cheese and milk. Mix until creamy and melted.

  • Season to taste. Garnish with chopped pickles or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Add bacon for a bacon cheeseburger twist.

  • Use ground turkey or veggie crumbles for a lighter version.

  • Reheats well and great for leftovers.
